Can a general anaesthetic be used for a sort of simple procedure just because the patient is ANXIOUS?

One of the most common causes of death in the OR is a reaction to the anesthesia. It is an elective , cosmetic procedure. They can give her heavy sedation and she will not remember a thing. I would not agree that anxiety is an indication for general anesthesia.
