Do you see similar ethics issues in the two matters of stem cell research and therapy, and abortion?
I do. I mean I see tremendous parallel between these two things. We've got Roe v. Wade, which most agree was sort of an ault on state's rights, but none the less it established a basis, a median of fairness, like it or not. What will be the Roe v. Wade of stem cells? Do we shut it down cold, like Bush tried to do? Or do we open it wide open, and create frankenstein like laboratories? We're going to have to come up with a "Roe v. Wade" moderation for stem cells, I believe. The right answer isn't at one extreme end or the other. A reasonable line will need to be drawn, somewhere. If we could just think of where to draw that line, civilly, and not politically. OK, your turn. Thanks for your thoughtful response.
