How can I run Quake II on windows 7?

Ive looked it up everywhere, nothing works at all. I'm doing this for my dad for his christmas present cuz he always played this a long time ago and he couldnt figure it out. i cant buy anything though cuz my parents are divorced and i dont talk to my mom so i cant go out and buy like a newer version of it. it has to be either quake 1 or 2.
