Will we ever have major Electoral Reform in the UK, e.g. Proportional Representation?

Its doubtful - the change won't get through parliament. The main two parties are being overrepresented, so they won't want to change the system as they will lose their influence. It seems like a nice idea but FFTP does have its advantages. If we changed to a proportional system then we would probably end up with coalition governments which will be unstable. However the smaller parties would get a chance to be heard, a big bonus, which is why they support electoral reform. Its a tricky issue though as every system would have its disadvantages so there's no easy answer I'm afraid!
